Once you sign up or register for our services, you will be required to provide us with your personal, business and/or sensitive information such as name, address, contact number, date of birth, employment status, business registration particulars or other relevant information, based on your unique needs and the services we offer. Your personal, business and/or sensitive information will be collected and, thereafter, processed by our Data Protection Officers.
The information that is collected and processed will be used by Esther for the following purposes: to match borrowers to lenders and lenders to borrowers; to open customers’ accounts with our deposit taking institution (DTI); to facilitate the movement of funds, whether investments or loans; to obtain credit reports on customers from our affiliate, authorized to operate under the Credit Information Act; and to ensure that Esther is in compliance with statutory provisions such as the Data Protection Act, Proceeds of Crime Act, Financial Investigation Division Act, Terrorism Prevention Act, the Money Lending Act and any other statutory provisions relevant to the services we offer.
We are required, under the Data Protection Act, to store all personal, business and/ or sensitive information collected and processed. Therefore, please take careful note that personal, business and/or sensitive information may be stored in our database for a period of up to seven (7) years. Thereafter, it will be destroyed. Your personal, business and/or sensitive information will be disclosed to our employees, affiliates or subcontractors, who are signees to a Non-Disclosure Policy or a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) to safeguard unwarranted disclosure of your personal, business and/or sensitive information.
Based on the Data Protection Act, Proceeds of Crime Act, Financial Investigation Division Act and the Terrorism Prevention Act, we may be required to disclose your personal, business and/or sensitive information to agencies or statutory bodies authorized to regulate the statutory provisions set out herein.
